As part of the exhibition “The Mute and the Screaming” with Cornelia Schleime and Margarete Adler, AOA;87 invites you to MEET THE ARTIST. Margaret Adler presents her work cycle “Mother’s Love”. The artist dedicates herself to the often denied “other” side of the topos. Get to know the artist and her act of creation over a glass of wine. Margarete Adler’s work cycle consists of six sculptures – the representations range from the baby to an old women. Mental injuries run like a red thread through the cycle. The downside of motherly love is the focus: excessive care, withdrawal of love, an obsessive system of outdated values and ideals, a destructive creed, the rift with the mother and finally the need for salvation. Margarete Adler translates the experiences into artistic form: »I want to visualize inner states, make emotions and abysses visible. The pain is not primarily visible, but rather deeper. The viewer should establish parallels.” Sometimes subtle, sometimes vehement, the works reveal painful triggers and traces of suppression. The veristic representations promote identification with the illustrated injuries. For more information, contact us at info@aoa-87.com
