OPENING: 24 JAN, 7 PM. – 10 PM.
EXHIBITION: 25 JAN – 15 MARCH 2025
AOA;87 BAMBERG
With the solo exhibition of the Franconian artist Hendrik Czakainski, AOA;87 bids farewell to its Bamberg location.
The works of Hendrik Czakainski go beyond simple depictions of urban landscapes. They create detailed, dystopian worlds that oscillate between familiarity and abstraction. Using materials such as wood, cardboard, and metal powder, he constructs multifaceted compositions that capture both the ordered beauty and chaotic decay of city scenes.
His artistic process, shaped by intense research and a spirit of experimentation, reflects urbanization, ecological challenges, and the interplay of order and destruction. Often depicted from a bird’s-eye perspective, his works invite reflection on the dynamics and fragility of modern urban life.
Born in 1979 in Aurich, Hendrik Czakainski now lives and works in Freiburg. After working as an assistant to Markus Draper and Wolfgang Flad, he developed his distinctive artistic style. Since 2013, he has taught at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. His internationally exhibited works combine architectural aesthetics with profound societal and ecological reflection, offering viewers new perspectives on the complexity of our world.
We warmly invite you to the official opening of the exhibition on January 24, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
