As long as it’s pink – Collegium Hungaricum Berlin

Ida-Marie Corell, Veni Vidi Venus #188, 2017-2022, visual study on paper with pen, water colours and collage, 31,2 x 23,2 cm

We are delighted that Ida-Marie Corell takes part in As Long As It’s Pink at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, on view from 8 May to 12 June 2026. Curated by the collective edit (Lilla Gollob, Kitti Mayer, Réka Vikárius, Noémi Viski), the exhibition was first shown in summer 2025 at editory in Budapest and is now presented in an expanded Berlin edition.

The exhibition takes its title from design historian Penny Sparke, whose book As Long As It’s Pink examines how pink became the defining color of an object culture in the second half of the 20th century — one that stood in opposition to modernism’s masculine dogmas. Pink is undoubtedly the color most laden with gender stereotypes; different eras and cultural contexts have continually inscribed new, often contradictory layers of meaning onto it.

Bringing together contemporary artworks, design objects, everyday items, and pop-cultural references from the East-Central European region, the Berlin edition views the world through the rose-tinted lens of design culture — weaving together fine art, design, and visual everyday culture — and poses current questions about pink in relation to body, identity, and social structures.
